Refugees & Asylum Seekers

Welcome to Our Church: A Warm Welcome for Refugees & Asylum Seekers

At Cowley St John, we are dedicated to being a place of welcome, safety, and support for all, especially for those who have sought refuge and are beginning a new chapter in life. Whether you are passing through, settling in the area, or searching for a community to belong to, we are here for you.

A Community of Care and Friendship

We understand that leaving behind your home and starting afresh can be daunting. Our church is a space where you will find acceptance, kindness, and a sense of belonging. You don’t have to be a Christian to join us—our doors are open to everyone, regardless of your background, faith, or circumstances.

How We Can Support You

  • Worship Services: You are warmly invited to join our services, which are a time for reflection, prayer, and community.
  • Practical Help: We work closely with local charities and organisations to provide food, clothing, and assistance with essential needs. If you require support, please don’t hesitate to ask.
  • English Practice: We offer opportunities to practise English in a relaxed and friendly setting or can connect you with local language classes.
  • Activities for Families: Families with children are especially welcome.
  • Someone to Talk To: Our clergy and pastoral team are here to listen, pray with you, or provide guidance and encouragement.
